In college, Sr. Ashby DJed weddings and dances and began creating his own hip hop and techno music. His first teaching job was in an urban school district and he began searching for ways to connect with this students. He took an instrumental version of Usher and Little John's "Yeah", and recorded Spanish vocals to teach his elementary students about the five senses in Spanish. He had the students stand up and rap the song with TPR actions. When Sr. Ashby saw the student's excitement, he knew he had to continue to make more songs to connect with his students. Since that time, Sr. Ashby has produced more than 40 original songs, online lessons, and many other resources which are now compiled here on this website.
