I just recently added a new lyric video for my irregular verb rap! This song is a very repetitive and rhythmic chant to help students remember the verb conjugations for ser, tener, and querer. This was a song that I recorded almost ten years ago! At the time, the idea I had was to have a high pitched voice and a low pitched voice for the 3rd and 4th time through the chant for each verb as a way to keep the song interesting and allow me to have competitions in class where different groups of students sang different parts of the song to see who can do it the best. If I still had the original recording, I would go back make the low pitched voice a little higher and less creepy! :) Although I have since made separate songs for ser, tener, and e to ie stem changers, I still often use this song in class and find it to be a great memorization tool! Students should stand up and do TPR motions to go with the chant. A preview the song is in the Youtube video below. Sr. Ashby subscribers can access that video here.
